SUMMARY:TXMPA 20th Anniversary Celebration
DESCRIPTION:TXMPA, the entertainment business professional group dedicated to promoting Texas for film, TV, animation, video games and other media production, will celebrate 20 years with an event from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 at Gilley’s ( https://www.gilleysdallas.com/ ) in Dallas. Tickets are now available on the official site ( https://www.txmpa.org/20years ). Use the code TXMPAGAMES at checkout for a discounted price!\nFor two decades, TXMPA has championed the storytellers, innovators, crew, and communities powering Texas’ film, television, commercial, animation, video game, and digital media industries. On August 7th, we celebrate that legacy — and the recent historic incentive funding. Join us for an unforgettable evening of connection, community, and Lone Star storytelling at its finest.\n\n\n\nIt started with a dream that came alive on the Capitol steps. On March 6, 2007, a group of Texas film and media professionals walked into the State Capitol with one goal — to convince lawmakers that Texas was ready to compete for film. Three months later, HB 1634 was signed into law, creating the state’s first Moving Image Industry Incentive Program. That day was a key moment in the growth of the TXMPA, and twenty years later, we’re still showing up.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNone of this happened by accident. From day one, TXMPA has been powered by a volunteer board of producers, crew, studio operators, and creative leaders who put their own time and reputations on the line to build something the industry needed. Twenty years of hearings, redlines, late-night calls, and standing-room-only meetings — all driven by people who believed Texas could be a real home for film and media. This anniversary belongs to every who has helped shape the landscape of Texas Media.\nThe work doesn’t stop at the Capitol. Over two decades, we’ve hosted gatherings in every corner of the state — Impact Awards in Austin, mixers and meetups in Dallas, happy hours in Houston, panels in San Antonio, workshops, seminars, and the occasional well-earned party. Every event builds the network that makes the industry stronger. If film is happening in Texas, TXMPA is somewhere nearby — making sure the people doing the work actually know each other.\nFrom the first incentive program in 2007 to the historic $1.5 billion commitment passed under SB 22, TXMPA has been at the table for every major win Texas media has earned. We helped lay the foundation. We helped champion the expansion. And we’re not slowing down. This 20th anniversary isn’t a victory lap — it’s the launch pad. We just set the stage for the next twenty years of growth, production, and opportunity for media in Texas.\nCome celebrate where we’ve been — and where we’re going next.\n\n\n
