Austin Unity User Group: Building Next-Gen Games for the Browser with Stratton Studios

Austin Unity Users Group will gather from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Braker Business Park B, Suite 250 in North Austin. Speaker will be Josh Loveridge, Managing Director for Stratton Studios. RSVP here.

Talk Summary:

With Unity 6’s WebGPU and WebXR advancements, browser-based games are no longer limited to flat visuals and shallow experiences. In this session, Stratton Studios will showcase how they’re using Unity 6’s new capabilities to deliver console-quality gameplay directly in the browser, everything from webVR improvements, open world rendering all the way to multiplayer.

The talk will explore real-world examples from current Stratton projects and share practical workflows for optimizing performance, leveraging Web for stunning fidelity, and building games that run natively on low end devices and desktop browsers alike.

Whether you’re building for web-first, or just want to understand what Unity 6 unlocks for modern deployment, this session will offer hands-on insights from a studio pushing the frontier of immersive web content.
