We’re having a party, y’all! But not just any party…
As with most ATX Game Makers events, this will be a time to learn, to network, and to work toward getting into the game industry. In 2022 we are creating a new normal. For months I have been debating when the ideal time would be for us to poke our heads out and have an official in-person meetup. Well, that decision has been made. I am very happy to announce that we are planning the first annual ATX Game Makers: Fake ‘till You Make It SXSW Party!
ATX Game Makers: Fake ‘till You Make It SXSW Party will take place on March 15th, 2022 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM CT at The Green Jay in beautiful downtown Austin, Texas. This first event will be 21 and up, rest assured we will have many more! We will have catering provided by Inka Chicken. (It’s delicious!)
Here is what you can expect at the event:
Established industry professionals will speak…but not about their amazing success or industry accolades. Instead, they will tell funny stories that happened to them while they pitched themselves or an idea and what they learned from it. I truly believe some of the best opportunities to learn are from mistakes. We are saving you time by airing out other peoples’ missteps that ultimately lead to their growth! Along with learning from industry veterans, local Austin-based studios that are actively hiring will be in attendance. Now is a great time to rework resumes and polish up portfolios! Hop into our Discord channel and find yourself a mentor. We have resume reviews as well portfolios and plenty of folks who would offer to help.
