IGDA-Austin presents Anna Huerta: In conversation with a director
IGDA-Austin will bring Anna Huerta, creative director with EA-Maxis, to Fleck Hall at St. Edward’s University campus, from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 24. RSVP here for this free lecture.
Anna Huerta has over 15+ years of experience as a game designer and creative director. Anna is currently a Senior Creative Director at Maxis (EA) for the Sims 4 . She graduated from The University of Southern California with a bachelors degree in interactive media and a masters degree in educational psychology and instructional technology. As a creative director she prides herself on turning fantasy into reality, finding creative solutions to the impossible, and telling stories through interactive media. She is passionate about improving and promoting human centered design practices and production processes in order to balance team health, business goals, and fun game play mechanics.
Anna will be speaking about her rise in the industry, her unique vision in approaching the game development production cycle, and her strategies for guiding teams toward successful project launches. This presentation is a must-attend for anyone interested in game development, psychology, and the art of leading teams to victory.

This event will be happening at Fleck Hall on the St. Edwards University campus right behind the Munday Library. The presentation will be held in Fleck room 305.
Free Parking:
All parking lots are open to park in (as long as they are not marked as reserved) but here are some suggestions of closer lots to the location. There is a parking lot located right across the street from the Fleck building (if you are still struggling to find it, look for the Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel and you will see the parking lot right next to it). Another parking lot is the one right next to the Munday Library on the left side, across the street from the Recreation and Athletic Center.
